What type of art can I submit?
We are currently accepting Fantasy, Sci-fi, and Anime themed art only. You can submit art of any medium (oil, acrylic, sculpture, etc) as long as it is in digital format - .jpg or .gif. Refer to the Submission Guidelines.

How do I submit my art?
First, you must become a member. Then, from your Member Home Page, click on the Submit Art link and follow the instructions. Be assured that you, the artist, will remain the copyright holder to any original work that you submit. More information about image usage and copyright is available in the Membership Agreement.

Can I submit my work even though I do professional work?
Yes, as long as you are the Copyright holder or have written permission by the Copyright owner. According to the Member Agreement, you are solely responsible for your artwork and any liability that may result from your use of any copyrighted materials, characters, etc.

Where will my gallery be located and how will visitors find it?
Upon approval, your artwork will be displayed on your Gallery Page, which can be accessed at http://username.epilogue.net (username is your Epilogue Member login name) or by visiting the Art section.

How are you different from other Sci-fi / Fantasy art sites?
We are dedicated to posting only high-quality Art. This means some of the art you submit may not get posted. Our decision to post or not post a piece of art will be based on our opinion of the image as it pertains to Epilogue and NOT solely on its artistic merit. Unfortunately, this may offend those whose work doesn't get posted, but this site is about quality, not quantity.

Submission Guidelines

  1. Copyright Infringement
There should be no copyright infringement in any submitted works. We will NOT approve artwork that contains existing copyrighted characters, unless you have specific rights from the publisher or copyright holder.
  2. Image Titles
All images submitted MUST have titles. If they don't, they will not show up properly in searches, etc.
  3. File Formats
Submitted images must be .jpg format, in RGB mode. Our system resizes images to 700 pixels wide. Filenames (filename.jpg) should contain no special characters or spaces (i.e., "!@#$%&*).
  4. Genre  (Fantasy, Sci-fi, or Anime)
Artwork must be Fantasy, Sci-fi, or Anime in theme, and should contain elements pertaining to the genre. If an image does not have recognizable SF/F elements, be sure to make your image description representative. (This is does not mean that you can post a drawing of your favorite pet and describe it as being some fantasy creature.)
  5. Image quality
All submitted images should be high-quality. Poor scans, out-of-focus photos, over-compressed .jpg's, etc, will not be accepted..
  6. Image cropping
All image edges should be clean and properly cropped, unless for artistic purposes.
  7. Image size
We do not have a defined minimum image size, but smaller images lack detail and are hard to view. The Editors will use their best judgment.
  8. Unfinished artwork
Epilogue only accepts finished works. We do not accept works-in-progress, sketches, or plain character drawings. The term 'sketch' refers to a rough drawing, not a finished piece.
  9. Background / Setting
All images should have at least a suggestion of setting or scene, even if it's minimal.
  10. Technique
Because Epilogue represents the best, highest quality artwork, we will not accept artwork that is lacking on a technical level. This does not exclude stylistic or painterly techniques.
  11. Text on images
Generally speaking, we would prefer that text in your images be kept to a minimum. The exception to this would be a signature, unobtrusive copyright statement or web address.
  12. Suggestive or Explicit Nudity
Epilogue is an all-ages web site. You will notice, of course, that some images on Epilogue contain partial nudity. The Editors will use their best judgment.
  13. Inappropriate Subject Matter
Do not submit artwork which may be offensive to other members or visitors. This refers to sexual, and  religious / occult themes. The Editors will use their best judgment.
  14. Software Filters and Plug-ins
We will not approve artwork that contain obvious use of pre-made filters or plug-ins (Lens flares, cloud-filters, textures, etc.). These filters/plug-ins are easily recognizable and have become cliche.
  15. Comic-book style art
Comic-style artwork is acceptable, however artwork with speech/thought bubbles, etc., will not be accepted.
  16. Fan Art
Fan art is NOT permitted. Collaborations are permitted, as long as both parties are in agreement.
  17. Epilogue quality
Please browse the galleries to familiarize yourself with the quality level of Epilogue. Submit only your best, finished artwork.

Reject Reasons explained! Read detailed descriptions of our reject reasons.

If you are unsure whether an image meets the submission guidelines, please post it in the Common Room Forums under "Works in Progress".

NOTE: We will personally review every piece of artwork that is submitted. We will review your submissions as soon as we can (up to a week, depending on the amount of submissions we receive). To check the approval status of your submitted artwork, login to your Member Home Page and click on Submitted Files.
